Publisher Of Redbook To Address Penn State Forum

University Park, Pa. Jayne Jamison, vice president and publisher of Redbook magazine, will give a talk on "Success: What Can be Learned and What Can't" on Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Ballroom at the Nittany Lion Inn.
Prior to joining Redbook, Jamison worked for various advertising agencies, and in 1985, joined the New York Times Women's Magazine Group and excelled in positions with Family Circle, McCalls, and Child magazines. After assuming the role of publisher and advertising director for American Health magazine, Jamison became publisher of group of magazines, which included Parents, Child, and five other pre- and post-natal titles. In August of 1997, she was appointed publisher of Redbook.
Jamison graduated from Penn State in 1978 with a degree in advertising, and was named an Alumni Fellow by the Penn State Alumni Association for her distinguished accomplishments in advertising and magazine publishing in 1999.
She has been profiled in Advertising Age, named to The Wall Street Journal's "Who's News" section, and named a "Media Industry Mover" by Phillips Business Information Inc.'s and in 1997, she served as the first female ringmaster for the Big Apple Circus.
The Penn State Forum is a lunchtime speaker series offered by the Faculty Staff Club and is sponsored in part by the Penn State Bookstore. It is open to the public. Tickets are $11 for non-members and $9 for members, and include lunch. Reservations can be made by mail or by stopping by the Faculty Staff Club office at 103 HUB-Robeson Center. Tickets will be on sale at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by the speech and a question-and-answer session at noon. The next Penn State Forum speaker is Todd Blackledge, lead college football analyst for CBS Sports, who will speak on "Becoming a Difference-Maker" on Thursday, March 15, at the Nittany Lion Inn.
