Killoren Wins National Council of University Research Administrators Election

University Park, Pa.  --- Robert A. Killoren, Jr., assistant vice president for research and director of the Office of Sponsored Programs at Penn State, has been elected Vice President/President-elect of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).

Killoren is editor of NCURA’s journal, Research Management Review, and also serves on the Professional Development Committee.  He has chaired the Mid-Atlantic Region (II), served on the Board of Directors and taught numerous workshops both in person and on NCURA’s live television broad casts.

A certified research administrator and a strong advocate of continuing education in that field, he has also been recognized as a pioneer in electronic research administration.  He was a member of the Federal Electronic Research Administration Demonstration Task Force from 1994 to 1997. 

A frequent lecturer at Penn State faculty, staff and student workshops on research proposal writing and administration, he oversees Penn State’s annual series of eight workshops covering a spectrum of research administration topics.

He and his family are residents of State College.
