Talkshow Host Ling Next Distinguished Speaker

University Park, Pa. — Lisa Ling, co-host of ABC’s daytime talk show, “The View,” will speak at Penn State’s Eisenhower Auditorium as part of the University’s Distinguished Speakers Series on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.
Tickets will be available to students attending the University Park campus on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Tickets will be available to faculty, staff and students from other Penn State campuses on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The general public may pick up any remaining tickets beginning Thursday, Oct. 25, on a first-come, first-served basis. The Eisenhower box office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Limited tickets may also be available the night of the speech.
One of five female co-hosts of “The View,” Ling brings a highly coveted youth prospective to the show. In addition to her work as co-host, she produces “It's a Ling Thing” and “Lisa's Money Thing” segments for the show. Before joining ABC, Ling was a reporter for Channel One News seen via satellite by more than 8.5 million students in over 12,000 high schools. As an investigative reporter, she has hunted down cocaine processing labs in the Colombian jungle, reported on the destruction of the Amazon rain forest and a participated in a joint investigation with Time magazine into a Russian company accused of smuggling nuclear weapons.
