University Park, Pa. -- Hotel reservations in State College just got a little easier, with an on-line reservation service offered by the Nittany Lion Inn and the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. The new web site, www.pshs.psu.edu, offers a complete reservation service, including room availability, rates, and available dates, all without picking up a telephone.

The new web site, which went live on August 15, 2001, also offers virtual tours of both properties, including overnight rooms, banquet space, and restaurants, among others. The site features a map and directions to the hotels and a listing of job opportunities with Penn State's Hospitality Services.

If guests to the hotels wish to embark on local adventures while in the region, the Hospitality Services web site offers information about special fly-fishing or golf packages available through the hotels.

The Nittany Lion Inn and the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel are two of the Centre Region's premier properties and hosts of the 2000 National Governor's Association meeting. In addition, the Nittany Lion Inn is included on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's listing of Historic Hotels of America, and most recently, the Nittany Lion Inn was named one of the six best hotels in Pennsylvania by Meetings East Magazine.
