Did you know...that if Valentine's Day is inspiring thoughts of nuptials, to get married in the Helen Eakin Eisenhower Chapel or the soon-to-be completed Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Penn State's University Park campus the bride or bridegroom must be a full-time student, a Penn State alumna/alumnus, a full-time Penn State employee, or a member of the immediate family of a faculty or staff member? Persons of any faith may schedule weddings, and the ceremony must meet the legal requirements of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Reservation forms are available from the Center for Ethics and Religious Affairs by calling (814) 865-6548 or by e-mail request to scg138@sa.psu.edu. Reservations are for a two-hour time slot.аThree weddings may be scheduled each Saturday in Eisenhower Chapel and three weddings in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, which is expected to open in June. One wedding may be scheduled in the Pasquerilla Center on Sundays. "Have You Seen This Fish?" they ask in bold letters, just above the picture of a ridiculous-looking finned creature with a long snout, an undershot mouth and a beady eye. "This fish can grow as large as 7 feet long and weigh up to 100 pounds," the sign says. "If you happen to catch one of these rare fish, please return it to the water as soon as possible. We would like to know where, when and how you caught this fish." It may sound fishy, but for Penn State researcher Patrick Barry, discovering what is happening to paddlefish, believed to be a more than 300 million-year-old species, in the rivers near Pittsburgh is serious business. It's all part of a joint project involving Penn State, California University of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission. The IAH fosters excellence in the arts and humanities through support of innovative, interdisciplinary work across the boundaries of departments, schools and colleges at the University. In 2002, IAH co-sponsored the "Lewis and Clark: The Unheard Voices" scholarly conference, an affiliated art installation and the original musical drama production, "York." For 2003-04, projects co-sponsored by the Institute include "Europe Observed: Perceptions of Europe in the Early Modern World," "Tensions of Change: Writing and Making the American Landscape" and "Colloquy of Asia in the Era of Globalization." The book, published by Penn State Press in 2001, received the John Gilmary Shea Prize for the best work on the history of the Catholic Church, and the Howard R. Marraro Prize, given annually in recognition of a distinguished scholarly work dealing with Italian history. Both awards are sponsored by the American Catholic Historical Association and carry a monetary prize of $750. In the book, Burr offers the first comprehensive history in 70 years of the so-called Spiritual Franciscans, a protest movement among the followers of Saint Francis. Hershey Medical Center, erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence used to be something not to be discussed in polite company and the subject of insensitive jokes. But with the development of Viagra and high profile advocates such as former U.S. Senator Bob Dole, the topic has gone mainstream. That may not be a bad thing, given that ED can be a symptom of other, more severe health problems. In the past, men commonly did not seek treatment for ED, but now many go willingly since they realize the problem is fairly common. Research shows that as men age, up to 55 percent have some degree of erectile dysfunction.
