Media representatives are invited to Penn State's new Information Sciences and Technology Building to see the classrooms, laboratories and special spaces and to talk with administrators, faculty members, students and industry representatives.
On hand will be James B. Thomas, dean of the School of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), and Raj Acharya, chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Several faculty members also will be available to demonstrate aspects of research projects.
Today marks the first time that pedestrians and cyclists can use the 955-foot-long walkway - the second floor of the building - to cross over Atherton Street. Classes will move into the new facility between mid-January and mid-February. Reese's Market and Café is scheduled to open by the end of January.
