CENSUS BUREAU DATA SHOW that the average annual income of a male with a bachelor’s degree is $53,152, compared with average annual incomes of $29,958 for high school graduates (males, 25 years and older). Over a forty-year period, this difference totals nearly $1 million more for the college graduate. The holder of a professional degree earns $3.2 million more than high school graduates.

Penn State helps keep Pennsylvania agribusiness number one.

PENN STATE FACULTY conduct pioneer investigations in areas of critical importance to Pennsylvania agribusiness. A few examples: the University’s mushroom research program has helped keep Pennsylvania the number one domestic producer of fresh mushrooms--360 million pounds annually; the College of Agricultural Sciences’ cocoa, chocolate, and confectionery research group supports the state’s $4 billion chocolate industry; potato varieties and production techniques developed at Penn State help maintain Pennsylvania’s status as the nation’s top producer of potato chips--more than 26 million tons each year!
