Lecture On Gay, Lesbian Characters In Film, Feb. 6

University Park, Pa. -- Raymond Murray, author of "Images in the Dark: An Encyclopedia of Gay and Lesbian Film and Video" (Plume/Penguin, 1996), will present a talk on Thursday, Feb. 6, on gay and lesbian characters in film as part of the Lecture Series on Gay and Lesbian Lives. His talk will be illustrated with many film clips.

Murray, who operates a chain of video stores throughout the Northeast, has lectured widely on gay and lesbian cinema. His book is lively, humorous and authoritative and has been widely praised as the definitive book on the subject.

The program will be held at 4:15 p.m. in Room 102 Thomas Building (formerly the Classroom Building) on the University Park campus. The talk is sponsored by the Commission on Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Equity and co-sponsored by the College of Communications, the Equal Opportunity Planning Committee, Continuing and Distance Education and the School of Theatre Arts.
