Spanier testifies
before Congress on Internet 2
Despite the incredible advances in technology, there are still things that
faculty and students at research universities across the country can't do
because of the limitations of a crowded Internet, according to President
Graham B. Spanier, who recently urged Congress to support funding
for "the next stage" of the Internet.

honorary degrees
A renowned artist and Penn State alumnus and a former University administrator,
now head of a national private grantmaking foundation, will be awarded honorary
degrees during May commencement ceremonies at Penn State.

When the University Libraries breaks ground for construction of the new
Paterno Library on Friday, April 25, Gov. Tom Ridge will be there
with his hard hat on.
