Faculty Senate hears report on
health benefits
The University Faculty Senate last week heard an informational report on
health care benefits and a request that Penn State employees become more
informed consumers of health care.

From their vantage point -- the highest row in Beaver Stadium -- the three
men in bright yellow vests have the best view of the entire arena, but they
weren't there to witness Joe Paterno's 300th win. Instead, these emergency
medical technicians (EMTs) scan the thousands of fans around them, looking
for medical emergencies.
Conferencing at Penn State
has record year
Continuing Education's Conferences and Institutes had a banner year during
fiscal 1997-98, generating nearly 49,000 enrollments for 460 programs.
