Beaver Stadium expansion receives
$3 million
Philadelphia insurance executive and Penn State
alumnus Alvin H. Clemens and his wife, Valerie, have given $3 million to support
the University's Beaver Stadium expansion and renovation project. The project
will add more than 10,000 seats and make major improvements to the stadium's
infrastructure.
Appropriation request includes
state support for Making Life Better
Penn State is seeking special state funding for
the University's Making Life Better initiative as part of its 2000-2001 appropriations
request to the Commonwealth.
Penn State one of top five universities
in Gallup Poll list
Penn State is ranked fifth with Yale, Notre Dame,
Duke and the University of California at Los Angeles as the best university
in the United States, according to a new Gallup Poll. Penn State is second
only to Harvard as the best university in the United States, according to
respondents living in the eastern United States.
