$2 million gift focuses on scholarships
Penn State students and faculty in agriculture and business will be among the chief beneficiaries of a $2 million gift to the University from Galen and Nancy Dreibelbis of State College. The couple targeted slightly more than half their donation to boost the Galen Dreibelbis Endowment for Excellence in Agriculture and Business Administration. They created the endowment several years ago to support scholarships, research, equipment acquisitions and other academic activities.
Research team to study HUB late night
Late Night Penn State is acknowledged as a winner among alcohol-free programs on college campuses nationwide, and this week received recognition from the U.S. Department of Education in the form of a one-year, $75,748 grant, which recognizes innovative programs that combat binge drinking among college students. The grant will fund a research study of its impact on students.
Penn State Geisinger to reorganize
following study of current health system
The board that oversees the Penn State Geisinger Health System has formed a committee to review the system's organizational structure, governance and leadership and to recommend changes to ensure the system's continued viability.
