Health-care plan
details announced

The Office of Human Resources has concluded its review of health care plans for 2003. In evaluating the available physician and hospital networks offered by each of the plans, as well as services and the willingness to support faculty and staff in managing their health care and wellness needs, it has been determined that, for faculty and staff residing in a number of counties, primarily in the central Pennsylvania area, Geisinger Health Plans will not be offered after December 31 this year.

Parking Office
announces changes

The Parking Office at University Park has announced a permanent change in the parking lot designation near Fleet Services, and also some temporary parking restrictions designed to facilitate students moving into the residence halls.

Plans approved for
new center at Erie

Construction of the new $30 million Research and Economic Development Center (REDC) at Penn State Erie is expected to begin in spring 2003. When completed, the center will support research designed to serve the educational and economic development interests of northwestern Pennsylvania.

Campuses receive funds
to promote prevention

The Commission for the Prevention of Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs (CPATODA) has
awarded more than $60, 000 in funds to 12 Penn State campuses. These mini-grants will support
the campuses' strategies in furthering their alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention efforts.
