Elisabeth M. Ackerman, senior clerk in University Libraries, from Jan. 1, 1956, until her retirement Jan. 1, 1968; died May 20, at the age of 94.

William L. Barr, professor emeritus of farm management in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from July 1, 1936, until his retirement Nov. 1, 1972; died July 5, at the age of 89.

Gordon Bowker, professor of general engineering at Penn State Mont Alto, from Aug. 1, 1966, until his retirement June 30, 1981; died June 10, at the age of 87.

Harold T. Campbell, assistant professor of agricultural economics in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from June 15, 1966, until his retirement June 30, 1986; died April 25, at the age of 76.

Carl O. Clagett, professor emeritus of biochemistry in the Eberly College of Science, from July 1, 1956, until his retirement July 1, 1978; died June 8. He was 89.

J. Douglas “Doug” Carter, former associate director for administration and WPSX-TV/WPSU-FM in the Division of Outreach and Cooperative Extension, died June 8, at the age of 65. Carter earned his bachelor’s degree in education in 1966 and a master’s in media in 1968, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He began his career in commercial television in 1954, switching to educational television in 1964. He later worked as a television producer and a television production manager. In 1969 he came to Penn State as supervisor of instructional television. In 1979 he became manager of Media Services and, after the Office of Instructional Media merged with WPSX-TV in 1981, he became associate director for administration and WPSX-TV/WPSU-FM. In 1997, after more than 28 years of service, he retired from the University.

Robert L. Cunningham, professor emeritus of soil genesis and morphology in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from March 1, 1964, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1992; died May 31, at the age of 72.

W. Lloyd Driver, retired manager of the Buckhout Greenhouse, died April 26 at the age of 79.
A 1950 graduate of the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture in Niagara, Canada, he managed the greenhouse for 33 years, from 1950 until he retired in 1983. He was an avid orchid grower and helped to establish the University’s renowned collection of those flowers. Now named the Lloyd Driver Orchid Collection in his honor, the flowers occupy one full room of the greenhouse in Buckhout Laboratory. For several years, he also maintained an outdoor botanical garden that was located on the site where Wartik Laboratory now is located.

Edward P. Farrand, associate professor of forestry extension in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from Feb. 1, 1951, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1979; died May 4, at the age of 84.

Linda L. Fehr, campus health services nurse at Penn State Schuylkill, from Oct. 1, 1982, until her retirement April 1, 2002; died May 14. She was 61.

Salvatore A. Fulginiti, associate vice president/controller in Corporate Controller's Office, from March 18, 1968, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1992; died May 20. He was 70.

Miriam R. Fultz, staff assistant in College of the Liberal Arts, from Aug. 27, 1984, until her retirement Nov. 1, 1995; died June 2, at the age of 69.

William B. Garis, equipment designer in Office of the Vice President for Research, from Sept. 5, 1972, until his retirement June 30, 1986; died June 13. He was 79.

Milton D. Getz, painter A in Office of Physical Plant, from March 21, 1955, until his retirement June 30, 1979; died May 19, at the age of 84.

Sally J. Houser, guest room attendant in Hospitality Services, from April 28, 1975, until her retirement May 25, 1988; died May 17. She was 73.

William A. Jester II, professor emeritus of nuclear engineering in the College of Engineering, from April 1, 1965, until his retirement June 30, 1999; died July 9, at the age of 68.

Ruth N. Kasnick, residence hall worker in Housing and Food Services, from Oct. 25, 1971, until her retirement April 13, 1985; died April 28, at the age of 80.

Niles L. Keesler, manager, financial statements in the Corporate Controller’s Office, from Sept. 7, 1948, until his retirement June 29, 1985; died June 20, at the age of 79.

Ruth L. Kresge, clerk A in University Libraries, from Sept. 1, 1976, until her retirement April 1, 1991; died June 10. She was 71.

John D. Mason, administrative assistant in College of the Liberal Arts, from Aug. 1, 1966, until his retirement June 30, 1981; died May 19. He was 87.

Genevieve N. McCarthy, accounting clerk in Intercollegiate Athletics, from Aug. 19, 1963, until her retirement June 30, 1981; died July 3. She was 84.

Willard E. McClain, assistant professor of mineral engineering at Penn State Fayette, from March 1, 1971, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1986; died July 1, at the age of 86.

Robert H. McCormick, professor emeritus of chemical engineering in the College of Engineering, from July 1, 1935, until his retirement July 1, 1979; died June 12. He was 88.

Mary C. Moore, residence hall worker in Housing and Food Services, from Feb. 1, 1958, until her retirement June 1, 1973. She was 90.

Harold E. Neff, assistant director of system operations in Information Technology Services from Sept. 1, 1964, until his retirement Dec. 31, 1994, died April 27, at the age of 62.

Mary T. Olejarski, residence hall worker at Penn State Erie, from Feb. 1, 1969, until her retirement April 5, 1982; died June 26, at the age of 80.

Roger Pennock Jr., professor emeritus of soil genesis and morphology in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from Sept. 1, 1964, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1991; died June 14, at the age of 79.

Gerhard Reethof, professor emeritus of mechanical engineering in the College of Engineering, from July 1, 1967, until his retirement June 30, 1988. He was 79.

Vivian P. Renaud, helper, general in Business Services, from July 1, 1964, until her retirement Feb. 1, 1984; died July 3. She was 83.

Bessie L. Stiglitz, nutrition aide in the College of Agricultural Sciences, from May 12, 1975, until her retirement June 29, 1985; died July 10, at the age of 79.

Jerome F. Telin, assistant professor of accounting at Penn State McKeesport, from Sept. 1, 1969, until his retirement Jan. 1, 1992; died March 27, at the age of 78.

Cyrus M. Williams, assistant housekeeping supervisor in Housing and Food Services, from April 1, 1964, until his retirement May 8, 1980; died June 22. He was 86.

Amos S. Zimmerman, senior extension agent in College of Agricultural Sciences, from June 16, 1949, until his retirement June 1, 1984; died May 20. He was 74.
