Kid
Fit! offers a healthy start for children
As
a University of Promise, Penn State is committed to making life better
for youth. One of the "promises" is to provide a healthy start to young
people and an example of this effort is KID FIT!, offered by Penn State
Recreational Sports Fitness at the University Park campus. Through this
program, certified Penn State fitness instructors, who have a background
in either child development or education, are educating children ages
7-9 about the benefits of exercise. Energetic instructors lead the kids
through a creative regime of push-ups, sit ups, stretching, running and
an obstacle course. Classes are open to children of Penn State fitness
membership holders and are held in the exercise studio (117 White Building)
on Sunday afternoons at 3:15 p.m. One class remains this semester, on
Dec. 15. To register a child, e-mail xjg1@psu.edu.
