State
of the University
Address is Sept. 13
President
Graham B. Spanier will deliver his annual State of the University Address
at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 in Eisenhower Auditorium on the University
Park campus. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., an ice cream social will be held
on the portico of Eisenhower Auditorium.
Survey
says newspaper
program is a hit
Surveys
conducted by Penn State's Student Affairs Research and Assessment Office
reinforce what President Graham B. Spanier has been saying since the inception
of the Newspaper Readership Program five years ago -- "Regular newspaper
readership contributes positively to a student's overall education and
their ability to understand current events."
Alumni
support aids
current students
Ten
current Penn State graduate students will be the first to receive awards
to support work on their dissertations from a fund created by a $1 million
gift from the University's Alumni Association.
Penn
College launches search for
vice president for student affairs
Pennsylvania
College of Technology will undertake a national search to fill the newly
created position of vice president for student affairs.
University
Senate to look
at several reports
The
University Faculty Senate will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in
112 Kern Graduate Building on the University Park campus.
