Carr's book explores Igor Stravinsky's creative process through his musical sketches, documents, scenarios, librettos, correspondence, reviews and philosophical commentaries. Her book is a result of archival work at the Paul Sacher Stiftung in Basel, Switzerland.

The book addresses the growing need for information in the emerging field of radio frequency micro-electro-mechanical systems (RF MEMS). It discusses the development of RF MEMS switches and efforts to reduce their actuation voltage. The text also outlines the design and development of RF MEMS-based inductors, capacitors, filters and phase shifters; describes the technology behind micro-machined antennas; and explores integration and packaging techniques for RF MEMS devices.
