Etiquette is subject of
Spanier radio/TV call-in

Proper social and professional behavior will be the topic of the next edition of "To the Best of My Knowledge," President Graham B. Spanier's monthly call-in show airing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, on WPSU-FM and WPSX-TV.

Joining Spanier to discuss the rules that make interaction with others comfortable and smooth will be Kathleen Crilly of the Kathleen Crilly School of Etiquette in Alexandria, Pa., and Mike Conti, associate general manager of Hospitality Services at Penn State. A special feature of this program will be an etiquette quiz with a prize for the audience member with the highest score.

Listeners and viewers with questions or comments are encouraged to call (800) 543-8242 during the one-hour broadcast. Internet users worldwide will be able to link to sound and pictures from the program at http://www.wpsu.psu.edu/ttbomk/; and they will be able to contact the president during the program via e-mail to response@psu.edu.

"To the Best of My Knowledge" is a series designed to explore topics of national and local interest and to allow listeners a chance to communicate directly with Penn State's president.

Deadline set for entries

The Division of Arts and Humanities at Penn State Altoona has announced a Feb. 1 postmark deadline for its third annual Ivyside Juried Exhibition for 2003-2004.

A college faculty committee will review slide submissions for up to eight exhibitions of artwork. The work will be featured in the Sheetz and McLanahan Galleries in the Community Arts Center of Penn State Altoona during the upcoming academic year.

This exhibition is open to all artists in all media. Entries must have been completed within the last two years.

There is no entry fee. Artists who are accepted will be notified by May.
