University Park, Pa. -- The big band sounds of The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra will fill Penn State University's Bryce Jordan Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26. Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 2.

There will be dance floors accessible for all to enjoy; high heels are not recommended for those who plan to dance.

Green Eyes, Tangerine, I Understand, Maria Elena, and I'm Glad There Is You, are some of the great hits of the fabulous Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. This event marks the first time a big band has performed at the Jordan Center.

Under the dynamic direction of trombonist, Jim Miller, whose credentials read like a who's who in music, this orchestra remains one of the most highly regarded ensembles performing arrangements as they were originally written. The performance also features vocalist Nancy Knorr, formally of the Pied Pipers, whose vocals will leave you humming the melodies long after the show ends.

In an evening full of pleasures from an orchestra that has been together for more than 60 years, the Bryce Jordan Center, Rider Auto of State College and Brookline Village proudly present The Jim Dorsey Orchestra in association with WRSC/WBLF and the Centre Daily Times. For more information call the Bryce Jordan Center at (814) 865-5555, or visit their web site at http://www.bjc.psu.edu
