Elton John was the single most successful pop artist of the 70's and continued to score hits for the next two decades. His songs represent a time capsule of pop music starting with "Your Song," "Daniel," "Crocodile Rock," "Tiny Dancer," "Rocket Man," "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" and "Bennie and the Jets," which began a streak of 16 straight Top 20 hits. John's song-writing mastery produced timeless classics such as "Little Jeannie," "I Guess That's Why They Call it The Blues," "Sad Songs (Say So Much)," "Nikita," "Island Girl," "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "Kiss The Bride" and "I'm Still Standing."

In 1994, Elton John contributed five new songs to the original motion picture soundtrack The Lion King. Elton won an Academy Award for best achievement in music for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." He also recorded "Circle of Life" and "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" for the soundtrack. That same year, Elton John was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Elton John's upcoming North American tour will promote his new album, The Big Picture, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of his prolific songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin. The album's first single "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" also features the rewrite of his 1973 classic "Candle In The Wind" in honor of the late Princess Diana. All profits from the single will be donated to a charity in her name.
