Simmons Haunted Dungeon To Raise Money For Hospice And Spalla Funds

10-29-97
University Park, Pa. -- Ever had the urge to scream? Those who stop by the sixth annual Simmons Haunted Dungeon on Penn State's University Park campus will get their chance this weekend. This year's dungeon theme is "100% Fear." Travel through a maze of creepy fantasies and gory torture chambers.

Located across from the White Building in Simmons Hall, the Haunted Dungeon is open Thursday, Oct. 30 from 9 p.m. to midnight, Friday, Oct. 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight and Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The suggested donation is $3 per person. Last year the Dungeon raised $2,000 for the Centre County AIDS Project and $700 for the Melanie Spalla Fund. This year, all proceeds will go to Centre County Hospice Agencies and the Melanie Spalla Fund. Hospice is an organization committed to helping people who are terminally ill and their families.

The Haunted Dungeon is sponsored by Penn State Residence Life, Residence Hall governments, the Student Activity Fee and Aqua Penn, with donations from the Penn State Bookstore. This event may be too frightening for small children.
