Time and Location

Please see page

Will my family know of my academic award?

Yes. A separate invitation will be mailed to home addresses approximately one to two weeks after award recipients receive their congratulatory letters.

What time do I need to be present?

Award recipients should be at Eisenhower Auditorium no later than 12:30 p.m. to check in. The program will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m.

How long will the ceremony last?

Approximately 45 minutes.

Will my name be called?

Yes. You will be given a name card upon check-in, so it is important that you arrive early to receive your name card. When recipients in your award category (The President’s Freshman Award, The President Sparks Award, The Evan Pugh Junior Award, or The Evan Pugh Senior Award) are called to the stage, you will bring this card with you so that your name will be called when you receive your award.

May I invite guests?

Yes. Be sure to return your reply card indicating the number of guests you are anticipating. If this number changes, you do not need to inform the Office of University Relations.

Will there be assigned seating for the award recipient?

Yes. You will be required to sit in assigned seating according to the award that you are receiving. Your family members and guests will be directed to sit in the open seating area.

What if I am unable to attend the ceremony?

You may pick up your award in Room 222A Ritenour Building after the awards ceremony, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. If your award is not picked up by Friday, April 23, we will mail the award to you.

Is this a monetary award?

No. Award recipients receive a medallion.

What do I wear?

Business casual dress is appropriate.

Who should attend ceremonies at University Park?

Note: This University Park Student Awards Ceremony is intended for University Park Campus students. If you are a non-University student you will be receiving your award at the campus where you are attending.
