Welcome to a Virtual Tour of the office of Penn State's president

Once you have the software and have downloaded your choice of movie, you are "standing" in the center of the president's office. Use your mouse or keyboard to swivel around, zoom in on objects, and look up or down. The artwork on the walls was donated by the Palmer Museum of art. If you would like to take a closer look, go to the floorplan sketch of the office and click on one of the colored, numbered rectangles. Play around a little. Pretty soon, you'll feel right at home.

By the way, you may also wish to learn a little more about Old Main itself, long a symbol of the University. But present-day Old Main is not the original Old Main, and it is no longer used as a dormitory. Click here to find out more.

That's about it. Let's start the tour.

If you have problems:

You will need QuickTime (free) for either Windows or Macintosh. It's also been enhanced to allow you to view streaming video and listen to streaming audio over the web.

The Multimedia and Emerging Technology Group at Penn State's Center for Academic Computing and the Office of University Relations developed this tour in 1995, shortly after then-new President Graham Spanier opened his office to the public for the first time. It has becomce an annual event since then.
