Committee on Institutional Cooperation
The CIC is a consortium of 13 research universities, including the 12 members of the Big Ten Conference and the University of Chicago.
The mission of the CIC is to advance academic excellence by sharing resources and promoting and coordinating collaborative activities across the member universities. Academic Leadership Program (ALP)
Established in 1987, the Academic Leadership Program (ALP) is designed to develop the leadership and managerial skills of faculty on CIC campuses who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise.

Department Executive Officers Program (DEO)
In 1997-98 the CIC initiated an annual program of leadership development opportunities for department heads and chairs (Department Executive Officers or "DEOs"). Institutional team participants include seasoned veterans as well as newer department heads and chairs.
