Penn State

Web 2007 Conference
Call for Poster Presentations

The Web 2007 Conference Program Committee invites poster session proposals for this year's post-conference luncheon on June 12, 2007. For additional details, please visit the Penn State Web Conference Web site.

Poster sessions give those who might not be able to consider a formal presentation for the June 11 conference, or have time to prepare one, with a way to share best practices and ideas they find useful. Poster session presenters create a poster of the information to be shared and provide a short overview of the session, followed by a more in-depth discussion with interested colleagues.

Poster sessions are an excellent forum for sharing information about projects, ideas/concepts, applications, and information. Sessions may include information about research studies, an analysis of a practical problem-solving effort, or a description of an innovative program that may be of interest to Web professionals at Penn State. Poster topics should compliment the continued "Web Futures" theme; since this year is the 10th Anniversary for the Web conference, "Web retrospectives" are welcome. Suggested topic areas are inclusive of but not limited to:

  • Innovative uses of the Web
  • Applications for Web development
  • Works in progress
  • Security issues
  • Usability
  • Accessibility
  • Design
  • Content management
  • Web communication technologies (RSS, blogs, wikis, podcasting, IM, and other collaborative technologies)
  • Retrospective-oriented topics - a look back on the last ten years; past, present, future

Submission Guidelines and Deadline

To propose a poster session, please fill out and submit the form below. A list of poster session guidelines have been developed to assist presenters. The deadline for poster session proposals is April 30, 2007. Those who submit a proposal will be notified of their acceptance status no later than May 9.

Special note:

No more than two presenters per poster are permitted. Only one person per poster will be "comped"" for the conference, should he/she choose to attend. The person to be comped should enter the IDCC as poster on the registration form.
