Giovanna
Genard
Giovanna Genard
is the assistant director for electronic communications at the Penn
State Alumni Association. In this role, Giovanna is responsible
for the development of the Association's award-winning Web site and
for leading the Association's information technology efforts, such as
the online directory, e-commerce, portal page, e-mail forwarding, and
innovative projects that are currently underway. Giovanna has more than
10 years of experience working in higher education, communication, and
the publishing industry.
Beyond her
higher education experience, Giovanna worked as assistant to the special
projects coordinator for Fornello USA, the headquarters of the Italian
Oven, a national restaurant chain. She also worked in the graphic design,
advertising, photography, and direct mail departments of Casiano Communications,
the largest Hispanic publisher of periodicals and magazines in the United
States.
Giovanna has
a bachelor's degree in Communication and Information Arts from Seton
Hill College, with an emphasis on graphic design. She earned a webmaster
certificate through Penn State's Continuing Education and Engineering
program and hopes to become a Penn State alumna when she completes a
graduate degree in organizational communication.
Giovanna is
co-presenting two conference sessions: Web
Graphics Tips and Techniques and Improving
the Visibility and Marketability of Your Web Site. She also served
on the steering and program committees for this conference.
