Frank Ritter
is a founding professor at the new interdisciplinary School
of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State. Ritter's research
is in the development, application, and methodology of cognitive models,
particularly as applied to interfaces and emotions. His thesis summarized
a methodology for testing the sequential predictions of cognitive models.
He has worked on providing a theoretically sound way of tying cognitive
models to interfaces for several years. These models have been used
in a wide range of activities, ranging from testing telephones to testing
theories of development. He has also thought about how to add emotions
and other behavioral moderators to cognitive architectures. Ritter is
a member of the editorial board of Human Factors, and is on the board
of the UK's Society for the Study of AI and Simulation of Behaviour
(AISB).
Frank is co-presenting
the conference session Conducting
a Usability Analysis.
