Artist's reception for 'Embodied Cognition (why I make stuff)' by Chris Bonner
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM / February 18, 2026
Chris Bonner, associate teaching professor of art at Penn State Abington, will offer insights into his solo exhibit, "Embodied Cognition (why I make stuff)," from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 18 in the campus art gallery.
According to Bonner's artist statement: "Consider the idea that we best understand the world through our own mind, body, and tactile experience. As I’ve absorbed this notion and truly felt the power of its realness, I have leaned harder into physical and experiential learning in my studio practice. Over the past three-plus years I’ve had the good fortune of being able to explore new materials, concepts and techniques in my studio. ... My intention for this show is to present the breadth of work that goes on concurrently in my studio as it unfolds from embodied cognition rather than chasing a cohesive body of art."
Bonner's exhibit is on view through March 3.
