UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Fifteen members of the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications presented research at this year’s National Communication Association Convention. The virtual conference ran from Nov. 19-22.

The group of researchers included four faculty members and 11 graduate students from the Bellisario College. They presented their innovative and timely research projects, which cover many areas of the communications field and showcase a breadth of research.

Topics included collaborative gaming, narratives, digital communications and empathy. Some projects examined topical issues like responses to climate change messaging and how audiences respond to media coverage of public figures' illnesses.

This was the 106th convention for the association, which advances communication as the discipline that studies all forms, modes, media and consequences of communication through humanistic, social scientific and aesthetic inquiry. NCA serves the scholars, teachers, and practitioners who are its members by enabling and supporting their professional interests in research and teaching.
