UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jet lines and defense products, has become the latest member to join the College of Information Sciences and Technology’s (IST) Corporate Associates Program. Boeing is the 17th business to join the Program, which began in 2011.
The Corporate Associates Program provides opportunities for companies and organizations to connect with IST students and engage further with college and University resources by funding IST programs and student internships. Associates engage with IST students through annual career fairs, invitations to professional development activities, and opportunities to bring real-life scenarios from their organizations into the curriculum.
IST students connect with Associates to benefit from their extensive networks of technology expertise, which often lead to internship and career opportunities. Students also benefit from mentoring sessions, field trips to facilities, and extensive interaction through student organizations.
The Boeing company — a top U.S. exporter to airlines and allied government customers in 150 countries — employs more than 140,000 people, assembling commercial aircraft, aerospace components and defense products in all 50 states and across 46 countries. Boeing has a long tradition of aerospace leadership and innovation and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
