CARLISLE, Pa. — Dickinson Law Dean Gary S. Gildin and Penn State Law Interim Dean James W. Houck presented honorary plaques and pillows to twelve third-year students at Dickinson Law as part of the Woolsack Society induction ceremony and luncheon on Monday, March 20. The ceremony is held each spring.
“It means a great deal,” said third-year law student Courtney Kenyon. “It shows that the institution that I chose some three years ago appreciates and recognizes my hard work and accomplishments not just over the past three years but through my entire education. It also represents their support of my career and professional endeavors moving forward.”
Founded in 1920, the Woolsack Society is an honor society recognizing students who have distinguished themselves academically. Membership is earned by students whose academic accomplishments place them in the top 15 percent of their class at the end of five or six semesters of work.
