College of Health and Human Development names Devon Fisk student marshal

Fisk to represent college, classmates at fall 2015 commencement Dec. 19

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Devon Fisk, daughter of Charlie and Claire Fisk, of West Chester, will serve as the college marshal for the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State’s fall 2015 commencement exercises.

Fisk is a biobehavioral health major, and she is minoring in biology and neuroscience.

As college marshal Fisk will represent all students graduating from the College of Health and Human Development at the commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 19, in the Bryce Jordan Center. She will participate in the academic processional representing her classmates along with the faculty marshal, Sonia Cavigelli, associate professor of biobehavioral health.

Fisk is a recipient of the Penn State President’s Freshman Award, the Evan Pugh Scholar Award, and the President Sparks Award.

A certified emergency medical technician, Fisk was involved with the Penn State club ice hockey team for four years and made the dean’s list every semester. Her American College Hockey Association ice hockey awards include an All-American honorable mention, first team all-tournament, and Lady Ice Lions MVP.

Fisk served as an anatomy teaching assistant for BIOL 129, Mammalian Anatomy, and a physiology laboratory teaching assistant for BIOL 142, physiology. 

She was also involved in Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon through the women’s club ice hockey team and volunteered at the Mid-State Literacy Council. 

Outside of her Penn State classes and activities, Fisk works in the emergency department at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital, and she volunteers with emergency medical services at Good Fellowship Ambulance Company. She also worked as an emergency medical technician in Bellefonte.

Fisk is a 2012 graduate of West Chester Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester.

Following graduation she plans to further her education to become a physician assistant.
