UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence at Penn State is currently accepting applications for its free 2018 Course Design Academy (CDA). The application deadline is Friday, March 30.
Do you have a new course to design? Have you wanted to re-design a course you’ve been teaching for a while? Consider applying to be a participant in the Course Design Academy, where you’ll spend five days over the summer designing your course in the company of other faculty members from across the University.
As a participant in this highly interactive faculty learning community, you’ll apply principles of learning and assessment, as well as the latest research on teaching, to your specific course. Inspired by the CDA, previous participants have collaborated on grant projects, presented at teaching conferences, and given invited talks on teaching topics.
Unlike other programs around the country, the Schreyer Institute’s Course Design Academy is not only free, but it is tailored to the needs of Penn State faculty.
Academy class size is limited. Applicants accepted into the class will be notified by email.
Travel grants are available for faculty traveling to the Course Design Academy from Penn State campuses other than University Park.
