Engineering faculty appointed to early career and development professorships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Eight faculty members in the Penn State College of Engineering were recently appointed to early career and development professorships.

They were selected following a recommendation from the Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering, Amr Elnashai, for their exceptional teaching and research initiatives. "Not only do we recognize the success that the eight Penn State engineering professors have achieved, but we also invest in their future by providing flexible funds to be used to advance their research, teaching and service career ambitions," said Elnashai.

Anthony Atchley, senior associate dean of engineering, added, "We are fortunate to be able to acknowledge these eight faculty members who have distinguished themselves early in their careers."

He explained that the professorships are made possible through the generosity of benefactors who recognize the need to support and encourage outstanding faculty.
