UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Student Engagement Network will host its first Student Engagement Expo starting at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Art Alley at University Park. Students, faculty and staff, alumni, and community members are invited to learn more about the impact of student engagement and connect with others who are passionate about the topic.
The Singing Lions and None of the Above (N.O.T.A.) will perform between 5 and 6 p.m. while 13 students from across the University present posters that showcase their in-classroom learning. A small group of students will kick off lightning round presentations at 6 p.m. in Freeman Auditorium to share their personal stories on “finding their why” as Penn State undergraduate students.
The final event continues at 7 p.m. in Freeman Auditorium with a speech from Susan Russell—actor, playwright, School of Theatre professor, and Penn State laureate 2014-15— about the power of student engagement.
The Student Engagement Expo evolved from the Engaged Scholarship Expo, which was created and run by the Council on Engaged Scholarship from 2013 to 2015. While this year marks the fourth series of the event, it will be the first to be hosted by the newly formed Student Engagement Network department.
No registration is required to attend the event and light refreshments will be available at 5 p.m. For more information, visit engage.psu.edu/events.
The Student Engagement Network is a joint initiative between Office of Undergraduate Education, Student Affairs, and Outreach and Online Education. The mission of the Student Engagement Network is to advance the power of participation by connecting students with experiences that empower them to make a positive impact as citizens and leaders of the world.
