UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Geico, the second-largest private passenger auto insurance company in the U.S., is the newest Penn State Smeal College of Business Corporate Partner. The company joins 27 existing Corporate Partners.
The Corporate Partner Program offers a variety of ways for companies to tap into the resources of Smeal and Penn State more broadly. Corporate Partners annually provide Smeal with scholarship support, research funding, and sponsorship of many student and professional development activities. Corporate Partners earn exclusive engagement with more than 700 students each year through the Career Planning and Strategies class.
Two Corporate Partner Career Fairs are held each academic year, giving companies an exclusive opportunity to network with Smeal students seeking jobs and internships. Partners also receive an invitation to the spring Smeal Student Organization Reverse Involvement Fair, the Spring Advisory Board Meeting, and premier placement at the Bryce Jordan Center Career Fair.
Geico insures more than 23 million vehicles under more than 14 million auto policies. Founded in 1936 as the Government Employees Insurance Company, it employs more than 36,000 associates. In 1996, Geico became a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, which is headed by Warren Buffett.
