UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Global Programs is committed to promoting Penn State's vision of becoming a truly global university — the Global Penn State. The Global Programs Travel Grant Initiative provides some of the resources and support needed to expand the diversity of our study abroad enterprise, support and promote the mobility of faculty and graduate students, and explore and engage in transformative, strategic partnerships around the world.
The Travel Grants are designed to encourage new international programs, and to recognize the work already accomplished in the internationalization of curriculum and globalization of the campuses. Broadly, the grant categories are as follows:
- Faculty Travel Grants: Award up to $3,000 for international faculty travel to explore new short-term program opportunities or to accompany students on a new short-term program.
- Graduate Travel Grants: Award up to $750 to support travel by Penn State graduate students to present their scholarly work at international conferences or other major professional meetings outside the graduate student’s home country.
- Transformational Travel Grants: A grant of up to $3,000 renewable for up to three years. Awarded for international faculty travel to develop and foster a new or existing international program that is positioned to make a substantial, long-term impact for the department, college, campus and/or University.
The travel grant application deadline is Sept. 15.
