Graduate Women in Science 2016 ‘Voices’ conference set for Feb. 6

Come explore the many facets of professional communication while expanding your professional network at the 11th annual Voices Conference 2016, hosted by the Penn State Graduate Women in Science.

This year’s conference is designed to develop networking skills and to help you frame and present your work to different audiences. Kimberly Ennico-Smith, deputy project scientist on the New Horizons Pluto flyby mission by NASA, will deliver the keynote address. Invited speakers will share their unique, and sometimes difficult, experiences communicating to the general public and to those in their field.

The conference will also focus on best practices to present yourself, including a workshop on networking effectively led by Alaina Levine, career consultant and author of “Networking for Nerds,” with over 100,000 copies sold.

The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 6 at the Atherton Hotel. The registration deadline is Feb. 2. Breakfast and lunch are included in the registration. This conference is open to all Penn State students, faculty and staff. To register, visit http://bit.ly/1N4a1kO.
