His interests lie in visual communications, environmental graphic design, brand experience, human-computer interaction, user experience design, visualizing information and exhibition design.
“We are excited about Huiwon's arrival at Penn State this fall and believe he is going to bring a lot of excitement to our program with excellent teaching and research experience in an array of graphic design,” said Phil Choo, professor and head of the Graphic Design program. “His versatility will enhance our various courses, including Design Foundation, Typography, UX/UI Design and Data Visualization."
Lim earned his master of fine arts in graphic design, a graduate certificate in human-computer interaction and a master's degree in environmental graphic design at Iowa State. As a student, he won the Best of Category Award in Environmental Graphic Design at the Annual Art Director's Association of Iowa Design Exhibition in 2016.
A native of Gunsan, Korea, Lim has a bachelor's degree in art and engineering from the Handong Global University in Pohang, Korea. He is a member of the AIGA and the Society for Experiential Graphic Design.
