MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) has extended the accreditation for the business degree programs offered by Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration. The five-year extension of accreditation is the outcome of a recent Continuous Improvement Review and campus visit. The business school’s accreditation is a distinction held by only about 5 percent of the world’s business programs.
"AACSB International accreditation represents the hallmark of business education quality. We are very proud to have our commitment to excellence re-affirmed once again by this prestigious organization," said Stephen P. Schappe, director of the School of Business Administration. "The accreditation standards are high and the review process is rigorous; our continuous improvement efforts culminate in a campus visit and peer review conducted by a team of deans from other AACSB-accredited business schools. We're very pleased that they were favorably impressed by the quality of our students, academic programs, faculty and staff, and the educational experience we provide."
AACSB International is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Of the approximately 16,000 business schools worldwide, only 836 business schools in 55 countries and territories have earned this accreditation.
The Penn State Harrisburg School of Business Administration was first accredited by AACSB International in 1998.
AACSB International accreditation includes all of the school’s baccalaureate degree programs – accounting, finance, information systems, management, marketing, and project and supply chain management, as well as its MBA, master of science in information systems, and master of professional accounting degree programs.
