UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Kenya Crawford, Danielle Kovalsky and Chen Zhuang received top recognition during the Health and Human Development Alumni Society Research Poster Competition.
In its first year, the competition celebrates research by undergraduate students in the College of Health and Human Development (HHD). Undergraduate students from all Health and Human Development programs and the College of Nursing were invited to present a research poster prior to the HHD Alumni Society’s annual spring reception and dinner on April 24 at the Nittany Lion Inn.
First place went to Crawford, spring 2015 graduate who majored in human development and family studies. Crawford presented “The Longitudinal Links Between Family Relationships and Perceived Romantic Competence in Adolescence and Young Adulthood.”
Kovalsky, spring 2015 graduate who majored in biobehavioral health, was awarded second place. Her presentation was titled, “Utility of Appraisals During Peri-Trauma as a Predictor of PTSS (Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome) Following Pediatric Injury.”
Third place went to Zhuang, senior in health policy and administration, who presented “Which Organizational Factors Most Influence Home Aid Retention, Turnover Intent, and Job Satisfaction?”
Posters were based on students’ own research collaborations with faculty members.
