UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Libraries will maintain reduced hours of operation at all locations while still offering faculty/staff and student academic and research support, out of concern for community health and safety arising from the COVID-19 outbreak, and following Penn State’s decision (March 11) to move all classes to remote delivery from March 16 to April 3.
Beginning March 16, library hours will be maintained similar to existing spring break hours in effect, with slight modifications for weekends and opening times, and with unit heads monitoring conditions and conducting periodic reviews to adjust hours as needed.
A University Libraries Updates and Resources page provides relevant, updated information about changes to Libraries operations and hours and links to online resources for remote users. A new Remote Resources for Library Users page, curated with links to a variety of resources and services, is available at https://libraries.psu.edu/remote-resources-penn-state-library-users.
The Ask a Librarian service will be maintained via online chat, text message, email and phone. Details are available at https://libraries.psu.edu/ask.
Library users who require essential assistance in person are encouraged to check the Libraries’ hours and locations page online, https://libraries.psu.edu/hours-and-locations, before planning a visit, and are strongly encouraged to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 recommendations for preventing illness.
