UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Pattee Library and Paterno Library are expanding hours and services April 24-May 7 on Penn State’s University Park campus to help students with end-of-the-semester research and finals study needs. In addition, the University Libraries is sponsoring later on-campus bus service Sundays-Wednesdays during the last week of spring classes and finals week.
Nearly all of Pattee and Paterno will open at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 24, for continuous, 24-hour service until closing at 2 a.m. Friday, May 5, and reopening that day at 7:45 a.m. through 7 p.m. This includes the Tombros and McWhirter Knowledge Commons on the first and ground floors of Pattee Library, west and ground floor central. The Eberly Special Collections Library will maintain standard operating hours. Pattee and Paterno also will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and resume standard Sunday hours of 1-9 p.m. beginning May 8.
Within the two buildings a variety of group study rooms for two to 16 people can be reserved. Monitors at the entrances to the building display real-time computer availability.
Coffee and snacks will be provided by the Libraries from 3-8 p.m. May 1-3 in 103 Paterno Library as part of the Libraries' end-of-semester DeStress Fest. Other University Park subject library locations also will offer snacks, puzzles and other activities.
For late-night hunger, MacKinnon's Café, at ground level west Pattee Library, will be open until 11 p.m. beginning Friday, April 29, and until 1 a.m. Monday, May 2 (overnight Sunday) through Thursday, May 5 (1 a.m. Friday). The café also will be open 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, May 6, then start summer hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday May 9 through Aug. 12, closed on weekends. Additional University Park branch library locations include the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library, Earth and Mineral Sciences Library, Engineering Library, and Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library.

Late-night CATA bus service — on campus only — will run until approximately 2:15 a.m. daily, April 24-May 7, with the last pickup at the Curtin Road transport station.
