Martin Sliwinski receives professorship in healthy aging and human development

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Martin J. Sliwinski, director of the Center for Healthy Aging and professor of human development and family studies in the College of Health and Human Development, has been named the Gregory H. Wolf Professor in Healthy Aging and Human Development 

The Gregory H. Wolf Professorship in Healthy Aging and Human Development provides             support for outstanding faculty. Its purpose is to provide the holder with resources to continue and further his or her contributions to teaching, research and public service in the area of healthy aging.

Sliwinski said, “Our faculty, students and staff in The Center for Healthy Aging are committed to the promotion of lifelong health and well-being through scholarship that fosters curiosity, partnerships and inclusion. We are deeply grateful to Greg for his support of our center, which will allow us to pursue new initiatives and develop innovative programs that positively impact people’s lives.” 

Wolf, a 1977 graduate of health and physical education in the College of Health and Human Development, said he is happy to support great faculty members like Sliwinski and his team at the Center for Healthy Aging. 

“So many seniors are enjoying active, healthy lifestyles today thanks to modern medicine and effective health promotion efforts,” Wolf said. “I am excited about the research and interdisciplinary collaboration underway at the Center for Healthy Aging and their efforts to get information and insights into the hands of people who want to make the most of every phase of life.”
