UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State is offering a new online certificate program in the field of enterprise architecture that can help information technology and business professionals improve the information security in their workplaces.
The nine-credit graduate certificate in Enterprise Information and Security Technology Architecture is being offered online through Penn State World Campus and the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST). Applications are being accepted for admission in Penn State’s fall 2016 semester, which begins in August.
Penn State World Campus and the College of IST also offer a master of professional studies in enterprise architecture online. Students who complete the certificate program can apply to the master’s degree, and upon acceptance, they may be able to apply the credits from the certificate.
“As our enterprise architecture programs evolve, we recognize that EA professionals seek to expand their knowledge base in the area of information security,” said Rosalie Ocker, the director for the Penn State Center for Enterprise Architecture. “The certificate in enterprise information and security technology architecture was designed to provide an advanced knowledge base of enterprise architecture with a strong focus on information security.”
Coursework in the program will focus on the enterprise information technology stack, enterprise architecture gap analysis, migration planning, governance and measurement. Students will also learn security and network management strategy including intrusion detection, encryption, authentication and network management.
Penn State World Campus has been offering online degree programs since 1998 and its online graduate programs have been ranked among the best in the country by U.S. News and World Report in 2015 and 2016.
