UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Penn State Human Resources are launching the Penn State Emerging Academic Leaders (PSEAL) program for faculty looking to develop their leadership skills.
The PSEAL program includes instructor-led seminars, mentorship, and self-directed learning activities, culminating in a personal leadership philosophy statement and development action plan. Mentorship is a key aspect of the program with participants mentored by experienced academic leaders and mentoring others through the New Faculty Network program.
Eligible participants are full-time tenured or non-tenure-track faculty members who have been promoted to the second rank, who are not currently academic administrators, or who have less than two years of experience in that role.
The program will run on Fridays, between 2 and 5 p.m., in the fall semester. Visit Penn State Emerging Academic Leaders for more information.
