Penn State Abington announces new major in project and supply chain management

ABINGTON, Pa. — Penn State Abington announced a new bachelor of science degree in project and supply chain management beginning Fall 2019, bringing the total number of bachelor’s degrees that can be completed at Abington to 21.

"The project and supply chain management major focuses on two of the most highly valued skills sets in industry. Coordination and management of complex projects and delivery systems are critical to successful organizations in the globally connected world,” Thomas Stone, assistant teaching professor in business, said. 

“The major provides students with the technical, quantitative, and people skills to design and operate complex management systems. This degree earns you a seat at the table with organizations in virtually every industry," added Stone.

Typical employers include manufacturers; warehousing and distribution companies; information integrators; retailers; transporter and third-party logistics firms; and related consulting firms across industry, nonprofits and government.

Students enhance their coursework with internship and networking opportunities, insight from industry guest lecturers, and research projects examining current topics or issues.
