UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students from Recreation, Park and Tourism Management 356 will be hosting a Throwback Thursday event at the Penn State All-Sports Museum from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12. Expect ’90s-themed games, prizes, trivia, photo booths, pizza and T-shirts for all who attend.The semester-long project will allow students to learn more about the museum, which chronicles Penn State’s athletic history and heritage, while having fun at the same time. Games will be located throughout the gallery spaces, and refreshments will be served in the recruiting lounge. There will be gift basket prize giveaways every 30 minutes featuring gift cards from Kozee’s, Quaker Steak & Lube, SeaWorld/Busch Gardens, Texas Roadhouse, McLanahan’s, Sheetz and many more.The event is free and open to all Penn State students with a valid ID.
Each semester, students in RPTM 356 collaborate with 10 local nonprofit organizations, campus organizations, and state parks to plan, promote, implement and evaluate special events. Generally free and available for the public to enjoy, students acquire practical event planning experience, while the organizations they work with benefit from a special event.
