HERSHEY, Pa. — On May 13, 259 Penn State College of Medicine students and their loved ones gathered for their graduation ceremony at the Hershey Lodge.
During commencement, the graduates were addressed by Penn State Graduate School Dean and Vice Provost for Graduate Education Levon Esters; College of Medicine Interim Dean Kevin Black, MD; and keynote speaker and College of Medicine alumna Ala Stanford, MD. Stanford is a national leader in health equity and health care policy adviser whom recently served as the regional director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services of the Mid-Atlantic.
“It is my hope that as our graduates reflect on their time at the college they know that the College of Medicine faculty and staff have considered it our honor to have been part of their professional foundation,” said Black. “They are the future, and I am confident that in the years to come we will hear about their successes and accomplishments.”
The 2023 graduating class included 148 medical students, 83 graduate students and 28 students from the physician assistant program.
