CARLISLE, Pa. — Penn State Dickinson Law welcomes Daryl Lim to its resident faculty beginning July 1. Lim will join Dickinson Law as the H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair Professor in Law, teaching courses on intellectual property (IP) law, civil procedure and antitrust law. Lim will also serve as associate dean for research and faculty development, and director of the IP Law and Innovation Initiative.
“I am thrilled to welcome Professor Lim to the Dickinson Law community. His expertise in intellectual property law and the new economy will enhance the law school’s curricular offerings that prepare students to 'Practice Greatness' as entrepreneurs and innovators, legal technologists, and cybersecurity and national security professionals,” said Dickinson Law Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway.
Lim comes to Dickinson Law after serving as professor of law and the director of the Center for Intellectual Property, Information & Privacy Law at the University of Illinois, Chicago School of Law. “I thank Dean Conway and the Dickinson Law family for their warm welcome. Our conversations underscore many opportunities to build new bridges and strengthen existing ones with partners both at home and abroad. I look forward to the trails we will blaze together,” said Lim.
Lim is an award-winning author, observer, and commentator of global trends in IP and competition policy and how they influence and are influenced by law, technology, economics and politics. He helps to shape the discussions on these issues at national and international conferences and regularly engages with representatives from government, law firms, and corporate and civil society organizations, as well as academia.
His publications are featured in leading flagship and specialty law reviews. He has served as a peer reviewer for the Yale Law Journal, Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, Journal of Antitrust Enforcement (Oxford University Press), the National Academy of Inventors, Cambridge University Press, John Wiley & Sons, and Carolina Academic Press. His views have also been featured in Forbes, The Daily Journal and USA Today.
